Judging the Quality of News

Let's face it just because there isn't much to report on during a given day or week does not mean that analysts and writers can just not produce any content that day. Sometimes the type of news that gets reported or emphasized on a given day can be dubious at best and may be misleading at worst. Today is a great example of this sort of thing. Without a lot to report on, we saw a lot of reports about a weak stock index futures market leading to a bad open on the actual stock market indexes. That did not subsequently happen.

In today's video, I will contrast two announcements from today's news and walk through why the stock index futures open may technically be news but isn't really useful compared to the oil inventories release that does have relevance to forex traders and can be used to make risk management decisions.
