FX Options Calculators? 12 Months ago
Certain websites like The Options Industry Council feature calculators for calculating breakeven levels, maximum profit and loss and comparing probabilties between using different options strategies.

I've seen a few websites that offer calculators for fx option pricing and the sites that offer calculators for profit, loss and strategies but they are all geared toward equities. Any pointers where I could find such a calculator?

It is pretty much the same isn't it? For example, if you are pricing the AUD/USD options it is like pricing a stock with a $156.20 share price. The calculations are the same.

By the way the options industry council stuff is at www.888options.com if anyone else is interested.

Yeah sorry it took me so long to respond. Hey, if you are really digging into options analytics you may want to take a look at a paper trading account (or a real one) with thinkorswim. They are a good broker but what they do best is analytics that are included in their client trading platform. It is pretty wicked stuff.

No problem - I am sure you're busy.

I am learning and understanding more about options and analytics and everything is starting to make more sense -such as figuring out the correct price of options.

ThinkorSwim from what I've read and on your recommendations seems like the gold standard for options brokers. I am also very impressed with their charting and analytics on the PaperMoney section of the CBOE.

Some questions:

Do they have a time restriction on how long you can paper trade on thinkorswim?

As far as options analytic software goes, what is your opinion of Option Vue?
Is this really the Rolls Royce of option trading software?

I think they give you 30 days on the client software but you can trade the web version from cboe for as long as you want. You may want to call them to get more detail.

I think optionvue is really good but not better than thinkorswim. If I had to pick a top of the heap software program thinkorswim would probably be it. Surprisingly, you may want to check out optionetics. The education they offer is not great but the software is surprisingly good.
